Genda Attar is extracted from the Marigold flower which is found widely across India and the neighboring countries. It is rarely encountered outside of India. Genda attar has the commonness of Marigold leads which may let you feel that there is nothing special about it yet its derived perfume can be extremely exclusive: very refreshing and “green”. It is yellow in color and has a very refreshing and fresh aroma with a mild strength. Its botanical name is Tagetes erecta. Garlands of marigolds are often given in India to symbolize loyalty, steadfastness in love and friendship and are sold in the markets for daily worship and rituals.
Emotionally Genda attar can be very fortifying, inspiring and deeply calming. It was used in the ancient times to treat inflammatory diseases such as asthma. Genda attar became an aid in proper breathing and proper concentration. Its constituents are Marigold essential oil and Indian white sandalwood essential oil. It blends easily with all other floral based attars. It is non-toxic in nature hence can be applied to the skin directly.
Genda attar is obtained by hydro distillation method of the genda flowers in pure sandalwood oil.
